Yesterday Let’s Move! recognized 698 U.S. schools as 2014 National Award Winners. The award was for creating an active environment in their schools. First Lady Michelle Obama was there and 42 states plus Washington D.C. were included in the 698 schools.

We hope this motivates you to get out and get active today! Remember, a minimum of 60 minutes of physical activity everyday is what the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention suggests for all school-aged children!

Middleton School District rocked their activity training! Focused Fitness showed them some of the new and innovative equipment options for fitness. We also demoed Wii and Xbox Kinect to see if that is a tool they could utilize to promote healthy, active lifestyles. The teachers that went to the SHAPE America National Conference in St. Louis had the opportunity to share back some of the ideas they pulled from the conference. As usual, Middleton is moving into the future with power and passion!
The American Alliance of Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (AAHPERD) has officially changed to the Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE America)!
This is huge for Physical Education. The rebranding gives us an opportunity to push Physical Education harder than we ever have before! The future is SHAPEing up to be a bright one, and we are excited to be a part of it.

The focus of the video was a play off of the popular AT & T commercials, where we asked young minds about fitness and health concepts. The unscripted answers were amazing!
