Sunscreen

May is National Skin Cancer Awareness Month. As summer approaches and the weather begins to warm up we need to be extra aware of protecting our skin from harmful ultra violet rays. Sunscreen that is SPF 30 is going to be your best bet to protect your skin. For more information visit the American Academy of Dermatology or the American Cancer Society. They are both great resources. The video below is a remake of a famous essay by Mary Schmich in 1997. She was a columnist with the Chicago Tribune. There is a lot of good advice in the video and it is worth the watch…If you don’t have time to watch it, that’s OK, just remember to wear sunscreen.

I’m lucky to be an almost 61 year old man who survived a big melonoma scare 17 years ago. Don’t count on being lucky. Be smart and protect yourself, pale or not.
